I love food. I especially love good food. I am, by no means, a food snob. You can find me late at night indulging in tacos or mulitas from the local taco stand paired with a Mexican Coca-Cola or eating a lovely croissant from the local pastry shop or a cold “toaster pastry” for breakfast. (Don’t you dare think to yourself that I should write butter croissant. Butter is implicit when speaking of croissants.) I absolutely love good coffee and abhor bad coffee. (Utah, I’m looking in your direction.) I enjoy cooking and baking good food and sharing it with others.
I’ll post recipes for more traditional, European foods to those based on “exotic” foods to me to staples to American foods to…well, whatever happens to be on the menu. Many of the dishes will be or can be pleasantly and easily modified to be vegetarian or even vegan. To make vegetarian recipes vegan, simply substitute your favorite fat for butter and, if bread’s included, substitute a vegan bread for one that is merely vegetarian. Try the recipes. Adore them. Hate them. Improve them. Comment on them.
Speaking of taquerias… Occasionally I’ll review a restaurant. What’s important to me: cleanliness, edibility, flavor, care, presentation, cost, environment. It’s not likely that I’ll have many good things to say about a restaurant that serves tepid food atop sticky tables and smells of bathroom cleaner. Appropriately hot, cold, or room temperature food proudly served in a clean restaurant will induce many good thoughts, feelings, and words.
Enjoy!
